Depending the piece to product, several process are possible :
Contact moulding :
it’s a matter of fiber hand-making impregnation of resin, taking care of take off air bagsbetween layers
This process use cold moulds which can be, according to series and forms made of wood, composite, aluminium, steel, …
Contact moulding is used for little or medium series and for little or big dimensions (even huge)
Spray-up Moulding :
it’s a matter of projection on a cold mould of fiber and resin aid of specific gun. The kind of mould is the same that one’s contact moulding.
Used for very large items (little or medium series)
RTM Moulding :
it’s a matter of injection of liquid resin (under light pressure) in a closed mould beforehand covered with fiber reinforcements. Moulds are made of: composie, aluminium, steel, …
Process for medium series, little and medium dimension pieces.
2 moulds are used (a mould and an opposite mould), in this way we get pieces with two smooth faces pieces
There’s also infusion moulding-vacuum moulding : process similar to RTM where resin move in the mould thank to void (no injection pressure). The mould is wearing with reinforcements and recovered with a bach wich allow to create a waterproof area under depression.
This process is mainly used for big dimension pieces ( little and medium series)
